Blue Coat changes Horizon equIP relationship

Distributor will work with the vendor on a training and support service basis only

Security content vendor Blue Coat has changed the terms of its relationship with distributor Horizon equIP.

EquIP will no longer be a Blue Coat distributor, but it will continue to work with the vendor on a training and support services basis.

The move comes in the same week that two of Blue Coat’s other UK distributors – Noxs and Westcon – came together through acquisition.

Speaking to CRN, Nigel Hawthorne, vice-president of international marketing at Blue Coat, said: “Our products are sold to organisations that need multiple country deployments and we need distributors that cover as many countries as possible. Horizon equIP does not fit that mould, but we will continue our support and training relationship with it for the foreseeable future.”

Horizon equIP was unavailable for comment as CRN went to press.
