Ipswitch ready to sign more Premier resellers
Vendor keen to add VARs with networking expertise to its top-level partner ranks
Network management vendor Ipswitch plans to more than double the number of its top-level VARs by the end of the year.
The vendor recently added to its Premier Partner ranks in the UK with networking VARs Cybis and Systems Integration & Cabling (SICL) signing partnership deals.
Roger Greene, chief executive of Ipswitch, told CRN: “We now have eight Premier Partners and 40 to 50 authorised resellers. We want to have more than 20 Premier Partners by the end of the year.
“We sign VARs with extensive IT expertise and we want to sign more partners at the same level.”
Greene said Ipswitch is keen to partner with networking VARs with the capabilities to educate end-users on networking issues.
“The UK channel has always been important to us. The way we look for partners has changed. Resellers are now more sophisticated, with more services and value add,” he said.
“We have a great brand and are well known in the market. We enable the channel to complete the potential of that brand with good margin and marketing.”
John Hurst, managing director of Cybis, said: “We became an Ipswitch reseller because its products complement our product portfolio. We chose to become a Premier Partner because we wanted to make a big commitment to the Ipswitch brand.”
Cliff Fox, managing director of SICL, said: “We did some investigating and discovered that the Ipswitch product fits in well with what we do as a network specialist. Being a Premier Partner gives us the ability to attract new customers.”
Neil Brosnan, product manager at Ipswitch’s sole UK distributor Computerlinks, said: “We are actively looking at channel marketing and we have an Ipswitch sales specialist to drive recruitment.”
