Maverick courts resellers with Hotlamps guarantee

AV distributor offers cash back to resellers that find it wanting after doubling lamp stockholding

Distributor Maverick’s Hotlamps arm has turned up the heat in the replacement lamps market after issuing a price, availability and delivery guarantee to resellers.

Under the Hotlamps Guarantee, partners who find a lamp cheaper elsewhere will be credited with double the difference. Resellers will also be credited with £10 if a lamp is not in stock or if a delivery deadline is missed.

Mark Tildesley, general manager of Maverick, said the audiovisual (AV) distributor has roughly doubled its UK stock of replacement lamps to $2.5m (£1.69) over the past three months to help back up the rhetoric.

“Some of our competitors have got great stock levels for the top five players,” he said

“But we have more than 800 different products in stock at any one time and resellers often make the most profit on the less popular ones.”

Separately, UK-based Maverick - which is owned by global distribution behemoth Tech Data - has announced it will be expanding into the Netherlands and Belgium.
