Rocom wins Amazon contract

Distributor renews multi-million pound deal to supply online retailer with comms equipment

Distributor Rocom’s retail division has netted a two-year contract to supply communications equipment to Amazon.

Rocom, which is owned by IT group AT Communications, has had a contract in place with the online retailer since 2004. It expects the contract renewal to generate at least several million pounds in revenue over the period.

The victory comes seven months after Rocom won a 12-month, £2m deal to become the first preferred telephony supplier for DSGi Business (CRN, 25 June).

The distributor said at the time that its fast-growing retail division generated 25 per cent of its revenues. Rocom also has similar agreements in place with Staples and Maplin.
