Computer 2000 claims improved performance thanks to MRP
C2000 claims investment in Materials Requirement Planning system will help meet VARs' needs
Broadline distributor Computer 2000 (C2000) has claimed it is now able to provide resellers with 90 per cent of products immediately, because of a major investment in a Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system earlier this year.
Prior to the implementation of the MRP system, fill-rates averaged slightly more than 80 per cent, and overall satisfaction with delivery was lower, the distributor claimed.
Jean-Francois Bessiron, UK inventory director at C2000, said: “The improved stock availability means that, in an average month, resellers can expect C2000 and Azlan to be able to meet all their needs nine times out of 10.
“Resellers can rely on us to have the products they need with them the next day. This means they can make delivery promises to their customers with confidence and take up opportunities for sales that demand rapid fulfilment. Being able to place and process a complete order without the complexities of split deliveries and schedules is also much more efficient and cost effective.”
The new system is also beneficial to C2000.
“We can make optimum use of our warehouse resources and reduce the financial risk associated with holding stock,” Bessiron added.
Brian Ebury, sales manager at VAR Beta Distribution, said: “I’ve noticed an improvement in stock availability over the past few months. It makes it easier for us to rely on C2000.”
