National Express gets 24/7 security

Integrator nets lucrative contract

Security integrator Vistorm has won a contract with coach firm National Express to manage its Citrix system.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, will see the information assurance specialist and managed security services provider take on 24/7 management of National Express’ Citrix estate across 45 sites in the UK.
National Express said the deal will allow its staff to focus on core skills.
David Jones, head of IT at National Express, said: “We recognised that Citrix was not our core skill, so we spoke to Vistorm about using its managed services offering.
“Vistorm will provide a 24/7 support team to run the estate,” he added. Vistorm will monitor the system, detect when things go wrong and gain remote access for diagnostics.”
Steve Browell, general manager of technology at Vistorm, said: “National Express still has its servers on site, so it can deal with problems directly. We will act as its ‘eyes and ears’ to ensure everything runs smoothly.”
