Acquisitive Acraman snaps up Ipitomi

Buy-and-build model alive and well as private equity-backed Acraman adds voice specialist Ipitomi to VAR portfolio

Private equity-backed Acraman Group has unveiled voice specialist Ipitomi as its latest reseller conquest, propelling its turnover beyond the £50m mark.

Ipitomi will join forces with Acraman’s other reseller brands - Telinet, Pasporte and Evolution Voice and Data.

With over 200 employees, the combined outfit now lays claim to being one of the UK’s largest end-to-end ICT suppliers.

Following its acquisition of IBM partner Pasporte in June, the group said it was looking to hit £100m turnover as soon as possible.

Acraman’s acquisition of Ipitomi, which specialises in hosted telecommunications and IP solutions, was backed by Investec Growth and Acquisition Finance.

The move also suggests that, despite the tough economic backdrop, the buy-and-build model is still thriving in the channel. Acraman’s announcement follows buy-and-build VAR Xploite’s acquisition of Cantono’s managed services business in November.

Group chief executive Paul Cosgrave said: “The continued support of Investec comes as a result of the group’s steady growth and the successful integration of other recent acquisitions, including Pasporte.

“Ipitomi has a strong track record within the information technology and telecommunications industry, and a comprehensive portfolio of services that go beyond the typical services offered by other providers."

Adrian Coppin, founder and chief executive of Ipitomi, said: “We are delighted to be joining such a fast-growing and respected group of businesses.”
