Long play notes score Acer hit
Acer UK has launched two notebook product ranges, the Acer Note 970cx and the Acer Note 370c/370cx.
The Acer Note 970cx is a top-of-the-range model combining multimedia sound and video with connectivity. It has the longest single battery power range of any system in its class, Acer claimed.
The 370c and 370cx are compact and lightweight and include Intel 120MHz Pentium processors with advanced PCI video graphics performance.
Acer marketing manager David Tanner said the two product ranges target the mobile professional market. 'They are for users who want a mobile multimedia system with the power of a desktop, a quality display and outstanding performance,' he said.
'While some manufacturers achieve long battery life by reducing function, Acer's use of a single battery means the era of truly mobile computing has arrived.'
The 970cx machine has a single lithium ion battery pack which lasts over 10 hours, and adapts to individual usage patterns with its heuristic power management for energy savings. It is based on the Intel 150MHz Pentium processor working with high-speed PCI local bus architecture.
Multimedia support includes 16-bit stereo, dual-angle speakers, internal microphone, high-speed CD-Rom and the integrated Mpeg software solution for high-definition video.
The 370 range supports zoom video technology to play video CD files on the LCD or external monitor. The 11.3in Dual-Scan STN screen displays at 800 x 600 resolution.
