Nebulas signs FireID to incubator programme

2FA outfit latest vendor to join reseller's partnership scheme

Nick Garlick: FireID is the most disruptive technology in the space

VAR Nebulas Solutions has added mobile two-factor authentication vendor FireID to its Technology Incubator Programme.

Nebulas launched its incubator scheme in 2007 as a means of nurturing emerging vendors in a controlled environment. Recent graduates include Ingrian and Tufin.

FireID’s authentication software is designed to secure payments, transactions and access to VPNs against ID theft and transaction fraud.

It works by generating a one-time password via the user’s mobile phone.

Nick Garlick, managing director of Nebulas Solutions Group, predicted that FireID would be a disruptive technology.

“We have seen the way users access information and applications change significantly while authentication technology largely remains stagnant,” Garlick said.

“FireID is the most disruptive technology in the space and offers the first solution I’ve seen that can scale to meet the user requirements our customers have without becoming cost prohibitive.”

The partnership was brokered by FireID’s UK distributor, Cirrus, a new business helmed by three former employees of security integrator Integralis.

Jenny Dugmore, chief executive of FireID, said: “Nebulas Solutions offers a keen understanding of the authentication space and will be an important partner for us as we establish ourselves in the UK market.”
