As part of its development plan, three management roles have been created at solutions supplier Portable Add-ons. Sandy Pearson, (above) European marketing manager, will be responsible for all marketing activities. Taking over as sales director, Grant Lumley replaces John Holden, now business development director.

Joe Nash has been appointed international account manager. His responsibilities include running the international distribution channel and selecting distributors.

Pinacl Systems has restructured its sales force with several appointments.

Jim Bain has been recruited as business manager for its Edinburgh office and Mark Walsh is sales account executive responsible for the Midlands, Manchester and Cheshire. Rick Windibank, as director of commercial sales, will head the UK sales division and John McEwan has been promoted director of sales for government and defence.

Kathy Monk (above) has joined research firm Romtec as business manager for distribution channels development. She will expand the range of reports on distribution channels, and develop customised services for this area.

Telesmart Developments, a Bacs interfaces supplier, has recruited Mike Lyon as senior channel marketing executive. Based at the firm's offices in North London, he will be responsible for extending its channels.

Systems integrator Pacific Systems has appointed Clive Wilson (above) business manager. His remit includes selling the company's products and services to City-based institutions.

Steven Schmidt has been appointed board chairman by the Computing Education Management Association. The association aims to provide a forum for discussion and to serve as an action group for hardware and software vendors.

David Cooper (above) has been promoted to general manager by BGS, provider of Unix and other performance products. He succeeds Andrew Bird, now VP of distributed systems marketing for the company in Boston.

Paul Gould and Julian Desert have joined server manufacturer Netframe, as regional sales managers. They will be supporting the firm's UK base of resellers.

Ed Heitzeberg, Micron Technology VP of design, product engineering and quality assurance, has been appointed to the company's board of directors. This brings the number of directors on the board to 10.
