F5 and Clarity changes afoot

Speculation that vendor is looking for new partner

A shadow was cast over the relationship between networking vendor F5 and distributor Clarity last week as rumours circulated that F5 is seeking a new partner.

Clarity and F5 have a long-standing affiliation, but CRN understands from sources that the distributor may be working its 90-day notice.

F5's distribution channel has seen several changes since it ended its relationship with Norwood Adam. At the time Paul Jenkinson, UK channel manager at F5 said the vendor was "stepping away from the distribution business".

Earlier this year F5 signed with Access Distribution (CRN, 30 August).

Jenkinson was unable to confirm the rumours, but admitted that changes are afoot.

"They [Clarity] are still part of our plans, but we are reviewing our go to market strategy."

However Simon Welch, group marketing manager at Clarity, said the relationship is continuing as usual.

"We are very happy with F5 and we continue to work with it," he said.
