Disperse traffic with Switchlynx

Networking firm Andrew claims to have found a solution to Lan traffic congestion with its Switchlynx/TR.

More users, higher transaction volumes and more Lan segments being attached to backbones have been gradually increasing the congestion on Token Ring Lans, according to the company. Andrew believes it has the answer with its eight-port Token Ring switch.

Switchlynx protects investment in existing networks by using the wiring, Lan adaptors, hubs and MAUs which are already in place.

Andrew claims the product's autosensing and autoconfiguration features simplify initial setup and subsequent modifications and therefore minimise disruption to the system.

Paul Forrest, director of operations at Andrew, believes there will be more need for solutions like Switchlynx as users demand more bandwidth.

'Our product is an economical, reliable and non-disruptive solution that enhances bandwidth in existing Token Ring Lans.'
