Psion Here For Access To Net
Psion is shipping the latest product from its collaboration with Compuserve Network Services (CNS)? Psi Mail Internet.
The software gives Psion palmtop users Web access and email facilities. The suite includes a browser and a set of internet tools that tests whether a host is responding, while showing the route taken by data as it travels across the internet. It can obtain information on sites, and can also synchronise the Psion?s clock.
It comes on either a floppy or solid state disk (#59.95 and #69.95) which can be downloaded on to a PC before being transferred to a palmtop.
Access to the internet can come from any ISP ? but for users without internet accounts, the software will run a registration utility connecting to the Net via CNS? global dial-up network.
The mail software supports POP3 and SMTP transfer protocols, along with UUE and Mime attachments.
The Web browser supports HTML 2, forms, graphics, caching, and three levels of zoom, mail to and plug-in API, which allows support for tables and other graphical formats.
