Wick Hill has teamed up with Seattle-based developer Holistix to offer Holistix Remote Monitor, which it claims can "solve poor website performance and return control of sites to web managers".

The subscription-based service enables managers to test the 'health' of their sites from a visitor's perspective by monitoring the availability and response times for URLs, customer transactions and external content providers.

Web managers can also be alerted if their sites are down for 10 seconds or more.

Ian Kilpatrick, group managing director at Wick Hill, said: "The Holistix program provides an end-to-end website performance monitor service and can alert people if their server is down or is not functioning properly. Keeping today's online systems running effectively and continuously is a big challenge and an area of huge potential growth for resellers."

According to a study by Zona Research, online companies lose an estimated $4.3bn in sales each year due to customer frustration over poor site performance.

Wick Hill has also launched the Radware balancing tools range, which ensures that web systems are available to internet surfers 24 hours a day. The product directs a request to wherever it will be responded to most quickly.
