KCOM Group brings key brands together
Affiniti boss Paul Renucci to head up new business teaming the integrator with Kingston Communications
Perfect match: Kcom claims the new business will combine integration and applications nous with connectivity and hosting know-how
Communications firm KCOM Group has announced it is to merge its Affiniti and Kingston Communications brands into a single business.
The company will run under the name Kcom and Paul Renucci – who joined integrator Affiniti in 2007 – will serve as managing director. The move excludes Kingston Communications operations in the Group's home territory of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The company claimed Affiniti's system integration and applications expertise is a perfect match for Kingston Communications' connectivity and hosting experience.
Kcom added that its partnership with BT, announced in June, would provide added services capability. The deal saw Kcom gain access to BT's national network while outsourcing management of its network assets to the telecoms behemoth.
Renucci claimed simplifying end users' interaction with the firm had been a key driver behind the restructure.
"Our aim in bringing together these activities into one new business is to simplify the group structure for customers," he said. "Kcom can now offer its full set of skills and services to all its business, enterprise and public sector customers, providing them with a broader portfolio of services and a more responsive and collaborative experience.
"Businesses today are looking for the scale and reliability of a large provider but the flexibility and responsiveness of a smaller provider. We believe Kcom offers the best of both worlds."
