Distributors hook up target SMEs with combined Check Point/IBM security package
Distributors Unipalm and Interface Solutions have teamed up to offer resellers a security package that combines Check Point and IBM technologies.
The bundle, which is aimed at SMEs, combines Check Point's Express software and IBM's xSeries hardware platform.
Unipalm and Interface Solutions specialise in Check Point and IBM respectively. They are looking for SME resellers that may not have security expertise.
David Ellis, director of e-security at Unipalm, claimed the price and performance makes the package ideal for SMEs. "We are offering direct end-user support. We are also offering free technical training where required," he said.
Tariq Ahmed, SME business development manager at Check Point, said the move follows a similar deal where the vendor's software is bundled with Sun's hardware and sold through Unipalm rival Allasso.
"It is a good marketplace for any reseller," he said.
The product is aimed at firms with up to 500 users and is suitable for mobile workers. "The SME market needs choice in this area, with 30 per cent of them having mobile workforces and 80 per cent having remote sites," Ahmed added.
