Blackroc offers CAP to channel

Distributor unveils new partner programme that it hopes will give it a greater market share

Data capture distributor Blackroc has launched a new partner programme to bring all of its vendors and resellers together under one umbrella.

The firm has claimed its Channel Advantage Programme (CAP) will combine the benefits provided by both the distributor and its key manufacturers under a single programme.

Martyn Broadhead, sales and marketing director at Blackroc, said: “The programme has been designed for channel partners with a dedication to the RFID [radio frequency identification] business and working with Blackroc.

“Any vendor that wants to join the programme will have to demonstrate that they are willing to add significant value to the CAP scheme.

“This is a Premium partner only programme, we are not looking for hundreds of new partners. We are looking to recruit 30 to 40 partners, with 20 to 25 coming in by the end of the year and the rest by May or June 2006. A third will be from our current customer base and the rest will be new partners.”

Broadhead added that CAP is an “integral part” of the firm’s future set-up and “a significant stepping stone for Blacroc towards getting a bigger market share”.

The programme will offer partners financial incentives, marketing funds, product news and a dedicated account manager. Its current vendor partners include Intermec, Hand Held Products and Casio.

Despite Blackroc’s desire to recruit new dedicated partners, Broadhead said: “Our current partners will get the same high service.”

Ian Ruddick, account sales consultant for information capture reseller BEC systems, welcomed the new programme.

“Our customers are keen to work with us as a result because it will offer a wider range of products. It could also offer joint marketing opportunities. Blackroc has the technical capabilities and is a reliable partner with good industry knowledge,” he said.
