JustXS spins off two specialist divisions

Store expansion to cater for specialist options.

Online hardware site JustXS, aimed at SME-based resellers and set up by inventory management firm PST, is to create two separate divisions: JustComponents and JustEmployees.

JustComponents will form a dedicated components and peripherals division from the company's main site.

JustEmployees is a standalone service, through which employees of JustXS customers are offered reduced-cost PC equipment.

Both new divisions will launch this month.

"JustXS saw the need to expand the online store to create more specialist options for resellers," said John Broderick, managing director of JustXS.

"For example, components-based resellers are often far more technical than VARs looking to ship complete systems. They require detailed information and support for every element of the systems they are building. A simple, pre-built machine, such as a Dell or Compaq, may not suit their needs."

Set up just five months ago (CRN, 11 October 2000), JustXS was the first step in expanding PST's long-running broadline inventory-management business, which purchases excess stock from vendors and distributors and then sells to resellers in bulk at reduced prices.

The online arm of PST, which counts David Svendsen, former Microsoft UK managing director, among its advisers, has turned over £2.1m since its launch.

LS Dillon, managing director of City Plumbing, will set up the first corporate account based on the JustEmployees service.

"It is something our employees have expressed a real interest in. Companies need to keep their staff happy. Adding this service as an incentive will help us to retain our skilled staff," Dillon said.
