Ex-manager to sue Dane-Elec

DRam vendor faces unfair dismissal action

The former general manager of DRam vendor Dane-Elec's UK office has confirmed that he is taking legal action for unfair dismissal.

Alan Stanley, who set up Dane-Elec's UK subsidiary and was at the helm for nine years, was asked to leave the firm after declining results. Olivier Chouraqui, general manager for Dane-Elec France, said the firm "no longer agreed with his business strategy".

The company has offices in Belgium, Germany, Ireland and the US, and partners with manufacturers such as Samsung, Toshiba, NEC, OKI and Hyundai.

Dane-Elec replaced Stanley with former Just Rams front man Jerry Crampin as operating director. This gave the French HQ "more financial control", said Jean-Pierre Lentignac, Dane-Elec's director of European subsidiaries.

Stanley confirmed that he had instructed his solicitors to issue an action for "unfair dismissal and unlawful deductions", but would not comment further.

Lentignac said Dane-Elec had "already given [Stanley] money", and didn't see what further action could be taken.
