Intac calls in the receivers
Specialist printer distributor Intac Data Systems collapsed last month amid debts alleged to be between #2 million and #3 million.
The Rotherham-based company, which was a distributor for Genicom, Oki, Digital and Tally among others, went into administrative receivership on 22 November.
One source said that the firm owed at least two six-figure sums to some vendors and had been in difficulty for a number of years.
Robin Edwardes, UK general manager of Tally, said: 'We were insured on this contract with Intac, so we won't be taking a hit, unlike some of the other manufacturers.'
Tally cancelled its hardware contract with Intac five months ago, although Intac continued to act as a consumables distributor for the vendor.
Edward Wetton, of chartered accountant Gibson Booth, has been appointed as administrator for Intac.
