Computer 2000 unveils new-look team

Distributor begins New Year with a revamped management team

Computer 2000 (C2000) is feeling bullish for 2007 as it begins the New Year with a revamped and finally completed management team.

As revealed by CRN, Andrew Shepperd last week returned to the distributor as director of C2000’s networking division Azlan UK after four years as sales director, channels EMEA at CA (CRN Online, 2 January). Shepperd fills the void created by Lee Perkins, who resigned as UK director of Azlan to join Computacenter Distribution last year (CRN, 21 August).

Speaking to CRN, Shepperd said: “Azlan is in a great position and I intend to drive awareness of what our proposition is and how our resellers will benefit. We intend to make the most of our existing vendors because many of them have substantial opportunities that we can further develop.”

C2000 also saw changes at the top in 2006 when managing director Steve Lockie left the company to join Datatec in Dubai (CRN Online, 27 November). He was replaced by Andy Gass. The firm also last week appointed Alice Smitherman as product marketing director, and Phil James as UK finance director.

Gass told CRN: “The level of change we had last year was too much, but we have recruited people who know the business and we are excited about the coming year. There are two ways to approach consolidation – passive or aggressive – and we intend to be very aggressive in 2007.”
