Endeavour leads Vars to sales path
Fledgling Var Endeavour Technologies is appealing for other Vars to take 70 of the 100 leads that it claims it receives every day.
The firm promised to give Vars 80 per cent of the leads it gets from ads, roadshows and mailshots for its voice recognition, language and video conferencing products. At present, Endeavour develops and sells direct, but is now offering free training to other resellers.
Endeavour has won investment from unnamed City venture capitalists. Sales director Jon Hendon, former Nokia UK country manager, said the firm hopes Vars can help convert its leads into sales. 'It won't come overnight, but the Var base can take us into companies and integrate our products with their technologies. Speech recognition needs demonstration.'
Endeavour offers video conference users the ability to type words in one language, which are translated into another at the other end. 'Business communication must be accurate,' said Hendon.
Based in Addlestone, Surrey, Endeavour is an accredited Picturetel, IBM, Vizitel and Kolvox reseller run by MD Peter Angell, former Globalink European MD.
