A-Server grows European channel
Cloud computing data backup vendor breaks 100 partner barrier in Europe
A-Server's BDR appliance uses Instant Virtualization Technology to recover data faster than traditional drive rebuilds
Cloud computing data back up vendor A-Server claims it is seeing increased interest from new European partners due to a lack of alternatives in the region.
The vendor claims to be rapidly growing its European channel of more than 100 partners across the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.
A-Server expanded its product range in July by announcing a partnership with backup and monitoring vendor Zenith Infotech.
With Zenith as its global business partner, A-Sever recently expanded the agreement from the American market to Europe.
Arvid Fossen, director of product management and marketing at A-Server, said: “Our goal is to scale the channel in a similar way as our partner Zenith has in the US.
“The European opportunity is actually greater due to the higher percentage of small businesses, local language and geographic differences and lack of a serious European alternative.”
The A-Server Backup Data Recovery (BDR) appliance uses instant virtualisation technology to recover data faster than traditional drive rebuilds.
“We do not and will never deal directly with end customers for our BDR and remote monitoring solutions as we need the channel to both sell and add value for the end client,” added Fossen.
Patrick Anigbo, chief executive of Diro Systems, one of A-Server's first UK partners, said: “We started with the remote monitoring services and now we are seeing these customers asking for the backup and data recovery solution.”
A-Server also offers a bare metal restore service in the event of a disaster rendering a customer’s site unusable, such as an earthquake or fire.
Over the last three months, Diro has installed managed monitoring solutions for 10 customers and several BDR solutions.
"The downturn has made SMEs much more cautious around hiring new IT staff,” said Anigbo.
“We believe services such as A-Server, which offer a fixed cost and easily quantifiable benefit, will be in strong demand over the next year.”
