Websense and Sphinx split
Firms end distribution agreement after less than a year
Sphinx and security software vendor Websense have ended their distribution agreement after less than a year.
Sphinx recently signed an agreement with rival vendor NetIQ, which is strengthening its UK channel.
Mark Hatton, managing director of Sphinx, said: "It was never a big part of our business. We have been talking to Websense about where our businesses are going and both decided to end our agreement."
Sphinx supported about 10 VARs on the vendor's range. Websense also sells to resellers through distributors Unipalm, Allasso and Ellipse.
Frank Coggrave, regional director at Websense, said: "We took the decision to reduce the number of distributors. It enables us to provide a more focused service to the channel."
