Avnet scores a Tandberg first

Distributor becomes first UK CDP to bag Accredited Service Partner status

Shaking on it: Avnet is the first CDP to achieve Tandberg ASP status

Distribution giant Avnet has become the first UK Channel Development Partner (CDP) to secure Accredited Service Partner (ASP) status with storage vendor Tandberg.

To qualify for the accolade, the company was vetted by Tandberg in areas such as its ability to provide services support, processes, procedures and quality of service delivery, and its Technical Assistance Centre.

Dave Parkes, Tandberg EMEA customer services director, said: “Avnet has worked hard over the past months to meet the high standards required by Tandberg to become an ASP and achieve full accreditation status.

“Having a CDP delivering services to the highest possible (ASP) certification level adds considerable value for all of Avnet’s partners and further supports their commitment to develop the video market with Tandberg as a key part of its Unified Communications (UC) proposition.”

Joel Chimoindes, UC director at Avnet Technology Solutions UK, said: “Accreditation from Tandberg gives Avnet Technology Solutions the ability not only to support our partners with the provision of visual communications equipment, but also to provide a host of white label support services to enable those partners who do not currently have a full range of service facilities available within their existing business.

“We are now able to provide installation services, maintenance services and service renewal programmes on behalf of our partners who continue to trust Avnet. Being awarded ASP status is a fantastic achievement for Avnet and a great recognition of our ability to support our channel partners’ services business.”

Chimoindes said the accreditation is UK-based, but Avnet is looking to roll it out across its other EMEA territories in the near future.
