Quantum's Q-Bytes programme offers prizes for sales and signings

Points mean prizes for distributors and resellers

Quantum has begun offering prizes to distributors for signing up new resellers to help it reach its target of recruiting 600 VARs across the UK and Ireland in the next 12 months.

The Q-Bytes programme was initially launched across Europe in September last year. It also allows Quantum resellers to gain points for each sale, which can then be redeemed for prizes.

Henrik Hansen, European marketing director at Quantum, told CRN that its distributors will be awarded points for every new VAR they bring to the vendor. Distributors will then be entered into a draw to win one of three trips to New York.

“Q-Bytes has given us momentum with our VAR base,” he said. “Under phase two of the programme, distributors can take advantage of Q-Bytes [programme benefits], which they couldn’t before.”

Quantum’s distributors will also be able to double their existing points if they reach a VAR recruitment target set by the vendor. About 900 of Quantum’s 4,500 European VARs have signed up to the Q-Bytes rewards programme since its inception.

“This is really putting the meat onto the bones,” Hansen added.

Aidan Sloyan, group enterprise sales manager at Quantum distributor CMS Peripherals, told CRN: “There is a mutual benefit for Quantum and its distributors. But at the same time it saves Quantum a lot of time and money on VAR recruitment.”

Sloyan added that the expansion of Q-Bytes could also be linked to Quantum’s recent acquisition of ADIC (CRN, 8 May).
