Acs office solutions scores with Northampton Saints rugby club deal

Acs receives Saints' blessing to become the club's technology partner

VAR acs office solutions has won a two-year six-figure contract to become the official technology partner of Guinness Premiership rugby team Northampton Saints.

The Northampton-based VAR is installing Hewlett-Packard (HP) infrastructure and Netgear wireless technology at the club. It will also provide consultancy services and support.

Jon Thorpe, joint managing director of acs, said: “Our relationship with the Saints started when they had an IT crisis that needed urgent assistance. Our team stepped in and resolved the issue quickly, impressing both the technical and commercial managers at the club.

“We have revamped all of the stadium’s systems and infrastructure and are working with Netgear to provide the Saints with a wireless stadium and ticketless match access.”

As a result of the deal, Saints players will sport the acs logo on their shorts, and the VAR shares a joint billboard with HP beside the pitch. It is also supplying 6,000 fans with banners sporting the company logo.

“It is a massive growth opportunity for acs because our name is seen by millions every time a match is shown on terrestrial and Sky TV, especially now that the Saints are playing in the Heineken Cup,” Thorpe said.

Allan Robson, chief executive of Northampton Saints, said: “We are proud of our relationships with successful local businesses and I am delighted to welcome acs into our team of partners.”
