SCC completes Italian job

integrator acquires Italian subsidiary of IBM

Pan-European integrator SCC has expanded its European presence after the acquisition of MVS, an Italian subsidiary of IBM.

SCC hopes the move will expand its services capabilities and extend its European customer base. The firm now has the ability to service eight European countries and plans to become a major services player on Italian shores.

Sir Peter Rigby, chief executive of SCC, said: “Through this deal, SCC strengthens its foothold in Italy where we see immense opportunity as the market begins to consolidate in line with other European territories.

"The acquisition enables us to offer enhanced desktop managed services and infrastructure business solutions to our customers on a broader scale.”

Rigby stated the acquisition is the third largest deal SCC has announced in the last nine months following on from the £100 million services deal signed in April with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC).

Vincent Bonnet, SCC's general manager Italy, said: “MVS is a leader in its field working with some of Italy’s most prestigious companies in the transportation, automotive and media industries."
