EMC ditches direct route to cloud
Vendor confirms plans to cease direct sales of cloud offering Atmos Online
Atmos Online users must decide which cloud service provider to migrate their data to
Storage giant EMC has announced that it is to duck out of selling its cloud service offering Atmos Online directly to end users.
In a post to customers on the company’s website, EMC confirmed that it is to cease paid subscription and support for Atmos Online, and that production account holders will no longer be charged for using the service.
The product will still be available to end users via the firm’s network of service providers, said EMC, and existing customers are "strongly" encouraged to migrate their critical data over to them.
It continued: “In the short term, these changes will affect neither your existing accounts nor your existing data."
