McQueen Goes Global with US Buy

Scottish outsourcing company McQueen is branching out of Europe by buying US-based Rand McNally Media Services Group.

The purchase will create a worldwide organisation with a turnover of over #100 million. It will also see McQueen enter the electronic commerce industry.

McQueen chairman Michael Gray said: ?The integration of the Media Services Group business within the McQueen portfolio is the latest stage in our strategy for growth.

?The complementary skills and solutions offered by both McQueen and Media Services Group means that clients benefit from working with a global company with core competencies across the board ? from electronic commerce for the internet to call centre management and multi-lingual user services.?

McQueen will employ all 350 Rand staff, taking its total workforce to well over 1,000. The joint organisation will trade under the McQueen name.

McQueen has specialised in integrated manufacturing and fulfilment programmes, including manufacturing, printing, media duplication, assembly, distribution, technical support and direct marketing. The company deals with Adobe Systems, Apple, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Motorola and SCO.

Rand supplies outsourcing services to the US IT and entertainment industries, and specialises in electronic commerce, marketing, software manufacture and distribution.
