Dell slashes deal registration threshold

Minimum deal value cut from £30,000 to £20,000 for PCs, servers and printers

A new threshold has been introduced for storage deals of £10,000

Dell has lowered the threshold for its PartnerDirect Deal Registration programme, in a bid to grow its partners’ businesses.

The permanent change sees the deal value for PartnerDirect Deal Registration threshold lowered from £30,000 to £20,000 and a new threshold introduced for storage deals of £10,000.

The changes will enable more partners to qualify for the benefits available through the scheme, such as special pricing, pre-sales support and resources.

The £20,000 threshold applies to desktops, notebooks, servers and imaging products. The £10,000 storage threshold will cover the Dell EqualLogic, PowerVault and Dell/EMC product families.

Kathy Schneider, EMEA channel marketing and programmes director at Dell said: “PartnerDirect was devised through the feedback of partners, and their continued input has led to us taking this action. Partners told us this would help them significantly since it broadens the coverage of the deal registration benefits.

“The support we can offer to deals above the new threshold will help them deliver stronger solutions faster and provide better value for their end customers.”

As a result of the lowered threshold, Dell expects a significant rise in the number of deal registrations and has, therefore, increased staffing levels within the PartnerDirect team.

David Gould, commercial director at reseller BT Business Direct, said: "This is a good move by Dell and one I'm sure many partners will welcome. Ultimately, this increased engagement will allow BT Business Direct to help our customers to be more productive and to compete in the current climate and beyond."
