Leapfrog catches contract

VAR wins digital signage deal at Lancashire County Cricket Club

Small family-run VAR Leapfrog AVIT has inked a deal with Lancashire County Cricket Club to roll out digital signage and support across its £12m The Point development.

David Thornborough, business development executive at Leapfrog, said the 10-strong reseller has been contracted to provide 28 Samsung screens, including a 12-screen videowall, at the redeveloped Old Trafford cricket grounds when it opens mid-year.

“It has full conferencing and banqueting facilities,” he added. “For a small family-run business in the current climate, we are quite pleased.”

The Point will be one of the largest purpose-built facilities in the UK with room for 1,000-guest formal dinners. There is also a 68-bedroom lodge and existing conference facilities.

The deal follows one just before Christmas with indoor sky-dive company AirKix, for its new Manchester facilities.

“The digital signage products are out there now, no doubt about it,” said Thornborough.
