Intact lines up Cisco ducks

Channel services firm bags three Cisco badges and hints at move into refurbished market

Intact Integrated Services has got all its Cisco ducks in a row after recently spinning out of VAR Logicalis.

The channel services firm has bagged Cisco Registered, Smart Care and Select Partner status, in a bid to “position itself correctly” with the networking giant.

The move will allow Intact to resell Smart Care services to its 100 UK channel partners.

Intact managing director Bob Dalton stressed that Intact, which is now an independent subsidiary of Logicalis parent Datatec, holds no ambitions to compete with its resellers or become a Silver or Gold partner.

“We needed to formalise our relationship with Cisco and get to the appropriate place in terms of certification,” he told CRN. “We would have loved there to be a services-only status but that doesn’t exist – we had to have some presence in the Cisco partner community to operate legitimately.”

Dalton also revealed that Intact would consider getting involved in the refurbished market for the first time, following Cisco’s attempts to legitimise that area of its channel.

“We have observed commentary that people like Zycko are being brought more into the fold and becoming legitimised,” he said.
