Magirus takes wraps off new security portfolio

Distributor launches four pronged security offering at Infosec event in London

Magirus has taken the wraps off a four pronged security portfolio that it has claimed will boost its resellers’ business.

The offering, unveiled at the Infosec event in London this week is based on four areas of expertise – endpoint security, smart secure networks, mail security, and compliance and professional services offerings.

The first area – endpoint security covers products from vendors such as AEP Networks, Netasq, VMware and Yoggie. The second – smart secure networks encompasses vendors such as ExaProtect, GFI, Netasq and Radware. The third – high performance mail security boasts products from vendors such as Clearswift, GFI and Netasq and finally the compliance and professional services portfolio includes vendors such as ExaProtect, EMC and GFI.

Miall McGrane, director of security and virtualisation at Magirus, said: “Our strength is based upon addressing those areas where one cap does not fit all. By bringing in different vendors with complementary technologies we offer our resellers a strong, robust and differentiated capability with which to cement closer relationships with their customers."

The distributor is also set to unveil a highly-secure virtual machine on a USB stick, using VMware’s Assured Computing Environment at the Infosec event.
