Anglia Business Solutions defies downturn with 'record' results
VAR posts a 25 per cent increase in turnover for 2008 and plans for expansion in 2009
Cambridge-based VAR Anglia Business Solutions has stuck one in the eye of the economic downturn by announcing a ‘record’ trading year for 2008.
The VAR reported a 25 per cent increase in turnover from £4.25m in 2007 to £5.27m in 2008. Since 2006 the company’s turnover has increased by 63 per cent, with growth being funded out of profits rather than borrowing.
This was put down to its investment in its in house developed technologies and the rapid growth of Microsoft Dynamics in the mid-range business solutions market.
Managing director David Hurley, said: “2007 was an exceptional expansion year for the business. However the 2008 results have been even more impressive. We implemented 14 new end-to-end business management solutions throughout the year and won two national awards.
“We also made further significant investments in our mobility and LinkFresh technologies. These have provided our customers with major productivity gains which have helped them to compete in today’s hostile economic environment. The company is set for further expansion during 2009,” he said.
Hurley added: “The fresh food market in particular faces the challenges of increased quality demands, product traceability and downward pressure on margins. The excellent work we have done in packaging the Dynamics NAV system to meet these challenges has highlighted what can be achieved using the recent advances in modern technology. Despite the prevailing economic gloom, we continue to recruit to meet the growing demand for these innovative applications.”
