Lantec MD sets buyout ball rolling for US parent

Jim Rousou, managing director of Lantec, is investigating more acquisitions after successfully completing the takeover of Basingstoke dealership AMA, on behalf of US parent company Elcom.

'I am currently looking at some of the several companies available for sale in the UK,' said Rousou.

'The advantage of being part of a publicly quoted American paper is the access to cash and quoted paper, which gives you much greater capability to do the deal. Lantec on its own would not have been able to purchase AMA.' AMA will operate separately from Lantec as an Elcom subsidiary The addition of AMA takes Elcom's UK sales beyond #100 million.
