Networking giant claims PC vendor remains a "strong reseller" after break-up of joint development project
Let's be friends: Cisco claims Dell remains a "strong reseller" of its networking wares
After the reported break-up of its joint product development relationship with Dell, Cisco has maintained the PC giant remains “a strong reseller” of its products.
As exclusively revealed by ChannelWeb, an internal Dell email claimed “Cisco has cancelled joint development for future blade networking products”.
The Cisco Nexus 4001d and FEX blade switches, both planned for release in the coming months and compatible with Dell’s M1000e blade chassis, have been canned.
A Cisco representative said: “Cisco is focused on ways to expand our Nexus product portfolio, as well as our datacentre networking solutions. Cisco offers blade networks for many server blade suppliers, such as Dell and IBM.”
VAR ANS Group partners with Cisco and Dell and chief executive Scott Fletcher said: “They should make sure customers get a multi-vendor supported environment.”
