Rigby Junior escapes fire at home
Byte Computer superstores operations director Steve Rigby avoided serious injury when he was rescued from a fire at his home 10 days ago.
Rigby, the son of Specialist Computer Holdings founder Peter Rigby, was rushed to hospital by the emergency services suffering from third-degree burns to his feet.
One source said: 'He escaped by the skin of his teeth although his cat did not survive.'
Although no official explanation was given, it is understood the fire was started by a chip pan catching alight after Rigby and three friends returned from a night out. His three friends were also rescued.
One source who spoke to Rigby said: 'Steve sounds bloody awful, but he's already working from another home. He won't be off work for very long.'
