COG puts a spin on purchasing scheme for resellers

Computer Office Group (COG), the purchasing-aggregator division of Integra Office solutions, has announced it is seeking to double its partner programme.

Computer Office Group (COG), the purchasing-aggregator division of Integra Office solutions, has announced it is seeking to double its partner programme.

The computer and office equipment distribution specialist currently has more than 60 members and is targeting resellers with turnover of over £1m per year.

Derek Jones, trading director at Integra, said: "We have resources of more than £400m, and our buying power provides members with competitive prices because the group has negotiated special trading terms with several broad-based vendors.

We also offer personalised mailshots, publications and catalogues. It gives local resellers the impact and muscle of a nationwide organisation."

Jones revealed the company will offer an online ecommerce solution, Initiative Online, in the next few months, designed to enable COG members' customers to order online by linking them directly to dealers' back-office systems.

COG has pledged not to sign up resellers which compete in the same area. "It's first come, first served," Jones said.

Rajan Ali, managing director of COG reseller partner Asis Computing, said: "Their size means they can order in bulk and offer cheaper prices than you could get on your own."

Joseph Pate, managing director of reseller Bex, said: "Perhaps the key benefit of working with COG is availability. It allows me to expand my range and diversify without signing new distribution agreements."
