Digital has introduced two Windows NT workstations which use its most advanced Alpha 21164 chip. The basic configurations of the machines, the Alpha XL 300 and Alpha XL 366, are priced at u6,089 and u7,099 respectively.
Computers Unlimited has won a distribution deal with high-end Raid system supplier Mega Drive. The companies will chase the pre-press and video markets with Mega Drive hardware, which is priced from u366.
Sherwood Computer Services has signed a deal with Oracle to integrate Sherwood's Amarta financial software with Oracle technology. The services company has also agreed to develop Amarta for Amdahl's Objectstar environment.
Mapping solutions manufacturer Mapinfo filed a modest increase in profits to $286,000 for the six months ended March 31 1996, on revenues of $20.3 million. This compares with profits of $202,000 on turnover of $18.8 million for the same period the previous year.
