Holbrook helps Sheffield Chamber get the IT factor

VAR appointed to carry out a 'detailed review' of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce's IT systems

Northern VAR Holbrook has been asked to review Sheffield Chamber of Commerce's IT systems to ensure it is using the right technology to help it deliver the best possible service to its members.

The Chamber, which is the largest in Yorkshire and Humberside, is also celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Holbrook has been a member of the Chamber for 10 years.

As a result of the deal Holbrook has deployed a team of consultants to review the Chamber's IT infrastructure and devise a tailored and integrated solution to meet its business needs.

Stephen Mitchell, Chamber finance director and company secretary, said: "We have brough Holbrook in to act as consultants for what is an important project. We want to ensure that, as one of the largest Chambers in the country, we have an IT infrastructure and software that is fit for purpose so that we can deliver the highest possible service to our members.

"We want to be certain that we are getting the best out of our IT systems and chose Holbrook because of their long-standing reputation for professionalism and excellence."

Mike Smalley, chairman of Holbrook, said: "This is an exciting and significant consultancy project. As the Chamber has diversified as a business its IT has become much more disparate and complex. The initial stages of the project will be to identify problem areas and inefficiencies and then recommend solutions. For example, Chamber staff currently have to double key information into their various systems because of the information requirements of different funding agencies.”
