Adapt ranked high as fast-growing tech firm

Telecoms reseller named one of the fastest-growing technology companies

Virtual network operator (VNO) Adapt has been named one of the UK’s 100 fastest-growing technology companies.

The telecoms reseller was ranked 25th in The Sunday Times Tech Track list, which ranks the UK’s fastest-growing tech firms based on turnover for the past two years.

Peter Knight, chief executive of Adapt, claimed the achievement was a “testament to the reseller’s customer-centric strategy” and that it “highlighted how the supply of telecoms is changing”.

Similarly, VAR Bell Microsystems was also listed in the table one of only four companies to make its fourth appearance on the list. The company had seen sales rocket by 63 per cent from £6.6m in 2004 to £17.6m in 2006.

Alastair Bell, managing director of Bell Microsystems, said: “Over the years, we have devised innovative services that have helped our customers to address the issues that affect their day-to-day business operations.

Our reputation for providing one of the UK’s most comprehensive ranges of IT asset management services is winning us more new customers every year,” added Bell.

Consultancy firm Centiq also made the exclusive list, achieving 88th position in the table, following growth of 57 per cent.

Glyn Heath, managing director of Centiq, said: “Our intent is to help those who are responsible for running IT systems get closer to meeting the real requirements of their business, and it is this that is propelling our growth.”
