SecurStore ready for UK launch

Backup and recovery vendor is also developing channel programme

Backup and recovery vendor SecurStore is launching in the UK and developing a channel programme to increase the take-up of its services.

The Icelandic firm currently backs up data to its Reykjavik data centre from 10 countries over four continents. In the UK, SecurStore will focus on offering data backup and recovery services to the SME market.

Alexander Eiriksson, president of SecurStore, said: “We want to benefit from the progressive UK market, and we are excited to bring enterprise-level managed backup and recovery service to UK SMEs.”

SecurStore has announced its intention to launch a UK channel partner programme, but specific details have not yet been finalised.

“We are expanding a selected network of partners to service the offsite backup and data recovery needs of UK companies,” Eiriksson added.

Christopher Evans, managing director of storage VAR Oak Systems, said: “A number of companies are doing it, but my feeling is that offsite backup services are mostly applicable to the mobile workforce.”
