An exceptional 17 companies certainly had Lady Luck on their side after winning an award at this year’s CRN Channel Awards 2006.

The awards ceremony, held last Thursday at the Battersea Park Arena in London, saw 22 coveted awards presented in front of a record-breaking 1,750 attendees.

Five of the lucky 17 winners won two awards each, proving that some companies really are exceptional in the channel. Microsoft, Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC), Computer 2000, Kelway and Eurodata Systems all won two awards.

Microsoft and FSC won the Software vendor and Systems and Components vendor awards respectively, and Microsoft also scooped the Editor’s Choice award for its ongoing and continued channel support. The hard-fought reseller categories held a few surprises this year, with two VARs winning two awards each. Kelway and Eurodata Systems won the Corporate Reseller and Services provider of the year awards respectively. Kelway also scooped the Outstanding Reseller of the Year Award.

After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a flutter at the casino, of which all money raised goes to the Bobby Moore Cancer Research foundation. And of course, being the CRN Channel Awards, everyone took much pleasure in the themed bars, with the cocktails bar and vodka bars going down well with attendees!
