Ingrian identifies new opening

Distributor equIP signs up Ingrian Networks as latest vendor partner

Distributor equIP Technology has signed up Ingrian Networks as its latest vendor partner in a move that will give its resellers access to the identity protection market.

Ingrian's offering is a device and software that ensures sensitive data, such as credit card numbers, is automatically encrypted and protected in transit across the internet and in storage.

Ingrian has been promoting its product across Europe since it launched in July last year. The company's technology, which is sold purely through the channel in Europe, secures personal information that sits inside a network.

"People are building walls around networks but not protecting the data inside," said James Blom, director of European operations at Ingrian.

Graham Smee, director at equIP, is confident the products will be in high demand. "Everyone is using the web to transact and Ingrian allows you to provide privacy from end to end," he said.

EquIP is providing training, and technical support and will be involved in lead-generation activities alongside Ingrian.

The vendor has already had success in the banking sector signing deals with online bank Egg in the UK and American Express globally.

Blom said: "Resellers can win in the banking sector because customers are looking for small resellers that can react quickly to issues, bring in the skills and not charge too much."

He added that margins are high for the product and the devices can be upgraded with software add-ons to increase security if required. EquIP will be Ingrian's sole distributor in the UK.

"If you sign up multiple distributors at the same time they do not know if you are committed," Blom said.
