Computacenter hails for Vblock package
Reseller giant rolls out virtualised server package based on "best-of-breed" technology from Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) partners
Computacenter to launch Vblock package at customer event in May
Computacenter has deployed its first Vblock 2 virtual infrastructure package based on best-of-breed solutions from the Cisco, EMC and VMware portfolios.
The deployment of the Vblock 2 package has been a priority, according to the corporate reseller, since the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) three-way partnership between the trio was announced last November.
Matthew Yeager, data storage and protection practice leader at Computacenter, said: “Within a day or two of the VCE being announced last year, customers were asking to see a working solution based on the technology.”
He said having the package in place will allow the company to show the demonstrable cost and agility benefits that come from using virtualised datacentres. It will be formally launched at a customer event on 21 May.
“It will be interesting because the cost savings associated with the individual components making up the package are well known and the company is now in a position to demonstrate the collective cost benefits that can be achieved when they work together,” added Yeager.
