Hills hands over the Trustmarque reins
Software reseller recruits outside Microsoft LAR channel to find suitable permanent successor to Ross Miller
Hills: Haddow will add to services in the long term
Trustmarque has handed new chief executive Scott Haddow the task of aggressively growing the software licensing giant’s services business.
The reseller has recruited from outside the Microsoft LAR channel to fill the slot that has stood vacant since the shock departure of Ross Miller in November.
Haddow joins from IT training firm New Horizons Computer Leaning Centres and Trustmarque stressed he has a solid track record in increasing companies’ sales.
Ken Hills, who has acted as a stand-in during the hunt for Miller’s replacement, told CRN: “Scott has a solid background in Microsoft and was appointed because of his experience in growing businesses.
“His short-term goal is to grow Trustmarque over the next challenging year with a long-term plan of adding to the services side of the business, particularly in software asset management (SAM) and information security,” he added.
Neil Murphy, managing director of Microsoft LAR Bytes Technology Group, said: “This is a positive appointment as LARs need to spend more time developing services.
“He has joined at a time when there is increasing pressure on LARs to boost the bottom line, so he may find it difficult.”
