Datrontech looks ahead to an acquisitive future

Portable Add-ons said last week that the acquisition of Data Connectivity was only one part of the jigsaw as Datrontech continued to diversify.

Nigel Parry, managing director of the company, said he would be pleasantly surprised if US Kingston Technologies bought into the company, but claimed it was unlikely.

The news follows the launch by Datrontech of a separate division, headed by Ian Boyle and Fergus Campbell, to focus on Kingston Technologies.

Parry agreed the jigsaw puzzle was not yet complete but refused to be drawn on the other sorts of companies that Datrontech was interested in.

He said: 'The acquisition of Data Connectivity makes a great deal of sense. Only yesterday I was able to close a deal by calling on its strengths.'

Parry confirmed that it was true that Datrontech wanted to diversify away from the memory arena. He said that the launch of Kensington Technologies would further help that business process.
