Insight's UK head steps down

Angelo Di Ventura set to leave firm at end of year, but replacement has already been found

Stuart Fenton: Angelo has been an important part of the Insight team

Insight's UK managing director has decided to leave the company after six years at the helm.

Angelo Di Ventura has been in charge of the VAR giant's UK operation for the past six years, starting as a sales director in the firm's Sheffield office and moving up the ranks.

He will be replaced by Emma Crookes, who has worked at the firm in various sales roles for five years, two of those in the firm's German and French offices with European responsibilities. Crookes's new title will be vice president for Insight UK and Ireland and CRN understands she will take over the role from next month.

Stuart Fenton, president of Insight EMEA told CRN: "Angelo has been a very important part of my team here for the past six years. Under his leadership the business has enjoyed significant growth and success and I have really valued his support and contribution."

However, he said Crookes will be a worthy replacement.

"Emma has demonstrated excellent leadership and management resulting in significant growth in Germany and France where she has spent the last two years, " he said. "She has excellent operational and sales experience and I am sure she will continue to build on the success that Angelo leaves us with."

The changes follow a tough time for Insight's US operation, which cut more than 200 jobs last month (Channelweb, 12 November).
