Microsoft shakes up financing scheme
Partners set to benefit from online credit application tool, giant vendor claims
The Microsoft finance programme supports IT projects in excess of £1,000
Microsoft has overhauled its financing scheme to make it easier for its UK channel partners to track customers’ credit applications.
The programme now features an online credit application tool and lets partners track the progress of deals through its web portal. It can be used for finance deals in excess of £1,000.
Brian Madison, worldwide general manager at Microsoft Finance, said: “It still offers the same level of flexibility, but it is simpler to use and will make our products more affordable and accessible.”
The changes follow on from the announcement earlier this month that Microsoft was to expand its global relationship with Dutch finance provider De Lage Landen to the UK and Canada.
Madison said the decision to extend Microsoft’s partnership with the firm was part of its aim to be “the best partner possible for our partners and customers ".
“We realised that there was an opportunity to increase what the company had to offer partners and become more competitive in the UK marketplace,” said Madison.
“We have been working with them on a global scale since 2004, so they know the customers and partners well and this experience really matters.”
